I am reading this book and trying very hard to learn from it. I tend to be on one side of the meter or the other completely! Either rushing around trying to do everything at once while missing precious "moments" to saying "let it wait" and enjoying that special "moment" completely. I am trying to be more of the later...hey those dishes WILL wait and I know this because I am always the one they are waiting on. Whatever mess is made I am the one that will clean it up so why go crazy trying to do it all when I can read a book to one of the kids then take care of things when they are playing together? It is VERY hard and this book is excellent. Remember, Jesus himself (yes, I hear you self-righteous doubters) said, "Mary has chosen the BETTER part." Mary did not miss the moment. Our sermon was even about this one week in December!! The pastor asked if you were a "trash collector". The one who misses the whole present opening and the looks on the faces because you are so intent on getting all the wrappings and ribbons picked up immediately. Good stuff! I will keep everyone posted on how this is going. I think it went well on both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
